There being no further business before the Board it is
therefore ordered that the Board of Commissioners stand
adjourned untill the first Monday in February next this 14th
day of January 1850 --- Charles F. Fitchet

Newnansville February 4th 1850 ---
At a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners Present
the Hon' Charles F. Fitchet Judge of Probates and President
of said Board, George L. Brown, Samuel B. Colding, John B.
Standly Esq's present a majority being present they proceeded
to business ---
Order 1st On receiving the bids for building a Court
House for the County of Alachua, Samuel W. Burnetts and
J.S. Barber's proposals were opened with a plan accompanying
and on examining the bids it was found that Samuel W
Burnett's bid was the lowest in consideration of the plan size
and work, and therefore it is agreed that Samuel W.
Burnett's bid be and it is accepted by the Board of County
Commissioners, and the he enter into bond with the Commissioners
for his faithful performance of building the said Court House
in double the amount of his bid to be completed in Nine months
from this date ---
Order 2nd In assessing a County Tax for County purposes
it is ordered that the Collector of the State taxes, assess and Collect
fifty per cent on the State tax, and pay the same to the County
Treasury of Alachua County ---
There being no further business before the Board it is
ordered that the said Board Stand adjourned until the first
day of April next ---
