Order 1st It is ordered that the Sheriff Assessor and
Collector of the State tax, assess and collect for County purposes
fifty per cent on the State taxes and pay the same unto the
County Treasury.
Order 2nd It is hereby ordered that the County Treasurer
pay to G.L. Brown, Samuel B. Colding and C.F. Fitchet
Judge and President of said Board of county Commissioners
two dollars each per day for this service in attending on
the Board of Commissioners ---
There being no further business before the Board it is
therefore ordered that the Board stand adjourned to an indefinite

State of Florida } S.S. We the Subscribers and Judge of Probate
County of Alachua } for said County, and inhabitants of said County
having the qualification of voters therein, and selected by the said Judge
of Probate to assist him im Canvassing and Counting the votes given
for the Office of County Commissioners and two Justices of the Peace
for the 1st Justices District of the County, as shown by the returns
filed in the Office of said Judge at an election held at the several
precincts in said County on Saturday the fifth day of April
this instant 1851, in consequence of a vacancy occasioned by
the resignation of David Mizell and John B. Standly and the removal
of the Justices of the Peace from the District ---
After having Carefully Canvassed and Counted the votes
hereby certify the following as a true Statement of the votes at
said precincts, Viz.
The whole number of votes given for the Office of County
Commissioner is nineteen votes (19) and that of these votes Elija
Barrow received nineteen votes (19) and John M. Geiger received
nineteen votes (19) and the whole number of votes given for the
Office of Justices of the Peace is fourteen votes (14) and of these votes
Samuel W. Burnett received fourteen votes (14) and Benjamin D.
White received fourteen votes (14)---
