The whole number of votes given for the Offices of Justices of the Peace
for the 3rd Justices District was Sixteen votes (16) and of these votes John
M. Geiger received 8 votes (8) And the number of eight votes was
given for John N. Robinson. ---
The whole number of votes given for the Offices of Justices of the Peace
for the 4th Justices District was twenty six votes (26) and Arnold
Thigpen received twenty six votes (26) and William H. Carpenter
received twenty six votes (26) ---

At a Special Meeting of the Board of County Commissioners ---
Present the Hon' Charles F. Fitchet President of the Board of
County Commissioners, Elija Barrow and George L. Brown Commissioners a
quorum being present proceeded to business ---
Order 1st Charles L. Wilson Sheriff and tax assessor and Collector
appeared and presented his accounts for examination and asked for a release
from a double tax on John H. Lewis and Mary F. Lewis his wife the Board
of County Commissioners on examination find an overcharge on Lands actually
owned by John H. Lewis and Mary F. Lewis his wife to be a difference
of two hundred and seventy six dollars and twenty two cents ($276. 22)
overcharge on John H. Lewis and Mary F. Lewis his wife, it is hereby
ordered by the Board of County Commissioners that the said C.L. Wilson
Sheriff, tax Collector and Assessor be and he is hereby released from the
aforesaid amount of two hundred and seventy six dollars and twenty two
Cents ($276.22) passed unanimously by the Board ---
Order 2nd It is further ordered by the Board that the
Sheriff Assessor and Collector be released from a double tax of eighteen
dollars and thirty two Cents on lands owned by D.S. Corbut --- |
