Commissioners Court 8th Nov'r 1852
At a Special Meeting of the Board of County Comm'r
present Wm J. Turner, Wyatt C. Allen, John B. Standly,
Wm H. Brooks and A.M. Caston President of said
Board met pursuant to appointment and proceeded
to business
Order No 1. We the said Board hereby revoke
the order of the 2nd February last, ordering the road
leading from Newnansville to Fort Clarke that said
road be put back on the old road leaving the present
road on the North side of the head of dry Branch and
running into the road now used in the Oaky woods
where the old road intersects it.
Order No 2. We order further that David Mizell
be appointed Road Commissioner in place of Wm J.
Turner.
We the said Board have taken into consideration
the matter of dividing the County into Road Districts
and we do hereby revoke all former orders and regulations
in the matter, District No. 1. Commences at Elija
Barrows store in Newnansville running East on the
Belemy Road to the Duval County Line, including said
road in this District, along said line North to Alligator
Creek along said Creek to the Columbia County line
along said line to the Santafee River, down said River
to the mouth of Rocky Creek along said Creek to Driggers
Mill from said Mill to Maxcy Dells including his
hands in this District, from Maxcy Dells along the
main road to Wilson's Blacksmith Shop thence
to the beginning E. Barrows. District No. 2. Commencing
at E. Barrows Store running South on the Wacahoota
Road to Marion County line, along said line East
to the Flemmington Road, thence North along said
road through Micanopy along the road leading
from Micanopy to Black Creek to the Belemy
Road thence West along the Belemy Road to E.
Barrows Store including said Wacahoota Road in
this District and all of the hands within five miles |
