Gainesville March 2nd 1857 - at a regular meeting
of the Board of County Commissioners, Present
Cornelius Rain, James M. Sparkman, J.M. Geiger
and Andrew Robb President of the Board, the board
being sufficient to transact business proceeded there
to Order N. 1 it is hereby ordered that the old Court
house in the Town of Newnansville with the land
belonging to the same be sold at auction, in the Town
of Gainesville on the second Monday in the month
of May 1857, between the legal hours of sale, said
Court house and land to be sold on a credit till
the first day of January 1858, with approved
security and interest on the same at 8 per cent
per annum - Order N.2 it is hereby ordered
that the County tax for the year 1857 be 25 pr cent
on the State tax - Order N.3 it is hereby ordered
that the Judge of Probate be authorized to examine
the accounts and vouchers of the County Treasurer
and if found correct, said Judge of Probate is auth
orized to give the County Treasurer a Certificate
to that effect, and further that the County Treasurer
be allowed 2 1/2 per cent for collecting and 2 1/2
per cent for paying out all County money that
has or may pass through his hands - Order N. 4
It is hereby ordered that Jas B. Bailey bill of
Thirty dollars be paid - Order N. 5 it is hereby |
