ment of Election returns as received from the 
different precincts in said County, Election 
held on the 4th day of October AD 1858 
The whole number of votes for the Office 
of representative to Congress was, Four 
hundred and Ninety (490) of which Geo 
S. Hawkins received Three hundred and 
forty nine (349) and John Wescott rec'd 
One hundred and forty one votes (141)   
For the Office of State Regester the whole 
number of votes was Five hundred and 
Fourteen of which D.S. Walker received Five 
hundred and fourteen (514)
For the Office of Assemblyman the whole 
number of votes was Five hundred and 
forty two (542) of which Tilman Ingram 
received Three hundred and Ninety Eight 
(398) and Geo W. Means rec'd One hundred 
and forty four votes (144)
