This Indenture made the sixteenth in the year of Our Lord One thousand 
eight hundred and thirty, Between Peter Meranda, of the City of Hav
anna, in the Island of Cuba by Charles Robiou and Waters Smith of 
the City of St. Augustine, Florida his Attorneys in fact, of the first part 
and Joseph Elzaurdi of Tallahassee in Florida aforesaid, of the second 
part, Witnesseth, that the said party of the first, for and in 
consideration of the sum of two thousand Dollars, lawful money of the United 
States of America, to him in hand paid by the said party of the second 
part, at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath remised, released, & quit claimed 
and by these presents, doth remise, release and quit claim unto the said 
party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, All that 
tract or parcel of land, situated on the Ocklawahaw in Alachua County 
containing two thousand acres, being the Western half of a tract of Land 
of four thousand acres, which is included in a larger tract of Land of Forty 
thousand acres, granted by Governor White, on the eleventh day of 
January 1811 to Joseph M. Arredondo. The said four thousand acres 
being by the Widow of the said Joseph M. Arredondo by Francis I. 
Fatio her Attorney in fact to Joseph S. Sanchez, as appears by Deed 
recorded in the Office of the Clerk of St. Johns County Book H. Page 
134, The said undivided moiety or Two thousand acres being conveyed 
by Deed from the said Joseph S. Sanchez to the said Peter Meranda 
under date sixteenth September 1828, also recorded in the Office of said 
Clerk, in the same Book and Page, and being subsequently divided, bet
ween, Theodore Flotard, the Grantee of said Sanchez, and said Peter Meranda 
as appears by an Instrument of writing dated 13th march 1830, 
To have and to hold, all and singular, the above  and to to the above mentioned 
and described premises, Together with all and singular the tenements 
Hereditaments and appurtenances, thereunto belonging, or in any wise app
ertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders 
rents, issues and profits thereof, and also all the estate, right, title, int
erest, property, possession, claim, and demand, whatsoever, as well in Law 
as in Equity, of the said party of the first part, unto the party of the second 
part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, In Witness whereof the parties 
to these presents, have hereunto set their hands & seals the day and year 
above written.-
