Columbia County	     } Know all men by these presents, That I William 
M. Reed, for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars to me in hand 
paid by Thomas A. Halliday, the receipt whereof, the said William M. Reed doth 
hereby acknowledge, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents 
grant bargain, sell and convey, unto the said Thomas A. Halliday his heirs 
and assigns, all my right of Pre-emption, in Township eight, in the eleventh 
section and  Eighteenth range, together with all my improvements in the Village 
of Newnansville vis; The Dwelling House, Kitchen, Smoke House, Store House 
and a Stable, with the fencing in the Territory and County aforesaid, formerly 
occupied by John L. Thigpin, now in the Occupancy of the said Thomas A. 
Halliday, together with all the rights, members, and appurtenances there
unto belonging, unto him the said Thomas A. Halliday, his heirs & assigns 
against him the said William M Reed and heirs, and against all persons 
whatsoever, shall and will by these presents forever warrant & defend.---
	In Witness whereof the said William M. Reed, hath hereunto set his hand 
and affixed his seal, this 24th August 1832

Columbia County		On this 10th day of January 1833 personally 
appeared before me John C. Richard Clerk of the County for the County 
aforesaid A. Tison, who being duly sworn, deposeth and saith, that he saw William 
M. Reed sign sell and deliver the within or the foregoing 
instrument of writing for the use and purposes therein mentioned 
and that Tho's Colding & himself subscribed their names thereto 
as Witnesses
		Recorded this 10th of January AD. 1833
