Memorandum of an agreement made and 
entered into on the Island called Cedar Key 
in the County of Alachua and Territory of 
Florida this 26th day of September one 
thousand Eight hundred and forty three, between 
Augustus Steele of the said Island of the one 
part and John Loud late of the City of 
Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, but 
now of the said Island of the other part 
Witnesseth that the said Steele for and in 
consideration of the sum of Five Dollars lawful 
silver money of the Unites States to him in 
hand paid by the said Loud at and before 
the sealing and delivery of these presents, the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath 
covenanted promised and agreed to and with 
the said Loud his heirs and assigns that 
he will assign transfer and set over all that 
certain Store or Warehouse now occupied by 
Mr. Weise and lately by the Commissary of 
the U.S. for the Storage of provisions & 
said store being in dimensions about Forty 
feet by one hundred feet and give him im
mediate possession of the same.
The said Steele more over, covenanting promis
ing and agreeing to and with the said Loud 
his heirs and assigns that by such assurances 
in the law and otherwise as may be neces
sary for the fulfillment of the same, he will 
sell and convey and give immediate posses
sion of the same, of a lot or parcel of Ground 
commencing on the line of a certain street intended 
to be laid out by said Steele along the Beach 
facing toward Way Key where a line drawn 
at right angles with said street shall include 
the whole of the building hereby conveyed 
to said Loud, the front of which lot is in the 
said street extending along said line at 
right angles with said street until it
