Grant in Alachua County State of 
Florida being part of four thousand 
four hundred and eighty acres of 
land levied to him the said Levy 
under a Judgment against the 
administrator of the J.M. Arredondo 
execution and sale thereunder 
by the Marshal of the District of East 
Florida bearing date 24th June 1845 
conveying the said Levy the interest 
of said Estate of J.M. Arredondo in the 
undivided grant of land of four 
leagues at each wind made to 
Fernando de la Maza Arredondo & son 
by the Spanish Government on or about 
the 22nd December1817, and situaued at 
a place called Alachua formerly 
inhabited by a tribe of Seminole 
Indians and commonly known as 
the Arredondo Grant in Alachua.  
And confirmed to him the said M.E. Levy 
by decree of the Superior Court of East 
Florida at the June term 1845, and which 
said tract of land is now being partitioned 
by the Commissioners under said 
decree, the said Commissioners to allot and 
separate the said One thousand two 
hundred and twenty acres herein 
conveyed to the parties of the second 
part from the four thousand four 
hundred and eighty acres conveyed 
as above to the party of the first part
