           This Indenture made the third day of July 
in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight and twenty 
one.  Between Nathaniel Wells of the City of New York 
in the State of New York Merchant of the first part 
and Robert Brown of the State of New Jersey of the 
second part, Witnesseth That the said party of 
the first part for and in consideration of the sum
of Two hundred and fifty dollars lawful money 
of the United States of America to him in hand paid 
at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents 
by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is 
hereby acknowledged and the said party of the first 
part fully satisfied there with, contented and paid, hath 
remised, released and Quit Claimed, and by these presents 
doth remise release and quit claim unto the said party 
of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever 
all that five hundred acres of land being parcil 
of Thirty thousand acres of land which said thirty 
thousand acres of land is an undivided part of a 
certain great tract of land of land containing two 
hundred and eighty nine thousand six hundred and 
forty five acres and five sevenths of an acre or there 
abouts, situate lying and being in the Alachua Ter
itory east Florida west of St. Augustine heretofore 
granted by the Spanish Government to Don Fernan
do de la Maza Arredondo and son by a grant 
bearing date at Havanna on or about the twenty 
eight day of December in the year one thousand eight 
hundred and seventeen, the said large tract two 
hundred and eighty nine thousand six hundred 
and forty five acres and five sevenths of an acre 
being hereafter to be divided into twelve parts and 
those parts to be baloted for by the parties interested 
therein or a division to be made, which the said Thirty
Thousand acres of land out of which the said Five 
hundred acres is to be taken was heretofore conveyed 
by the said Don Fernandes de la Maza Arredondo 
and son by Burr H. Betts their attorney to the said
