This Indenture, Made this 3rd day of April, AD
1916, between S.L. Carter as Special Master in Chan
cery, of Alachua County, State of Florida, of the
first part, and C.R. Layton, of the second part.
Whereas, By virtue of a certain final decree of
foreclosure made and entered February 25th 1916,
by the Honorable J.T. Wills, Judge of the Circuit
Court of Alachua County, Florida, in Chancery
in favor of Ragan Malone Company, a Corpor
ation, and against Ira J. Carter and Pearl
Carter, defendants, the grantor, the said S.L. Carter,
as Special Master in Chancery, the said S.L. Carter,
as Special Master in Chancery, on the first Monday
in April, AD 1916, being the 3rd day of the month,
and a legal sale day, sold the said property at pu
blic auction in front of the Court House, in the City
of Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida, having
first given public notice of the time and place
of such sale, by advertising said property for
sale in manner and form as required by the
statue in such case made and provided, in
the Gainesville Daily Sun, a newspaper public
shed in said City of Gainesville, in said County,
for thirty days next preceding said day of sale;
and that at such sale the said property was
struck off to the said part of the second part,
for the sum of One Hundred Dollars, he being
the highest bidder therefor, and that being the hi
ghest sum bid for the same. Now This Indenture
Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part, by
virtue of the said final decree, and in pursuance
of the statue in such case made and provided,
and inconsideration of the sum of money so bid
as aforesaid, and in hand paid to the said par
ty of the first part by the said party of the sec-
ond part, at and before the sealing and delivery
of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, hath granted, bargained sold
and conveyed, and by these presents doth grant, |
