the Grand Jury was dismissed from further attendance
on this Court

In the matter of the application   }
of Samuel Kennard to be admitted   } OBrien
a Citizen of the United States     }
             Upon reading the petition of Samuel Kennard
parying to be admitted a citizen of the UNited States, and
it being proven to the satisfaction of the Court by the Testi-
-mony of James Kennard, and John D.A. Weimer that
the said Samuel Kennard had resided within the United
States, and had not been beyond the limits of the same for
a period of five years, and that during said period he has
d*****ed himself as a person attched to the principles
of the constitution of the United States, and that it has
been his intention to become a Citizen of the UNited
States: And it also being satisfactorily proven to the Court
thet the said Samuel Kennard at the time of his arrival 
in the United States was under the age of eighteen years,
and that he is a person of good moral character, the Court
admistered the following oath to the said Samuel Kennard,
You do solemly swear that you will support the con-
stitution of the United States, and that you do absolute-
-ly and entirely renounce and abjure all allegeance and
fidelity to every foreign power, prince, potentate, or
Sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly to Victoria
Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom you
were late a subject, Therupon the said samuel
Kennard is admitted as, and declared to be a
Citizen of the United States

     Samuel N. Caston, M OBrien, Wm Gibbons,
Gabriel Sanchez and William D. Clark were sworn
to give evidence before the Grand Jury
