Court met pursuant to adjournment Present Honl Jesse J. Finley Judge &c
State of Florida }
vs } Playing and betting at Cards
Charles Johnson }
} On this day came as well the Solicitor
of the State of Florida James M. Baker Esqr. who prosecutes
the pleas of the State in this behalf and the Defendant
in person and the said Defendant pleads Guilty and
with the Consent of the Solicitor Submitted his case to
the Court thereupon the Court Sentenced the said Defendant
to pay to the State of Florida the Fine of Ten Dollars $1000
together with the Cost of this prosecution
The Court then adjourned untill 9 oclock to morrow morning

the peas of this State in that behalf and the defendant in
person and his Counsel Messrs Mitchell & McIntosh and
the said Defendant pleads not Guilty, thereupon Came a Jury
to Wit, William Sapp Clem Seckinger Wiley S. Bennett
J.S. Downing Arnold Thigpen David Ridaught Britton
Dixon Isham Peacock R.H. Ault E.S. Gunnell -
William Hearn John G. Rawls C.N. Bone S.J. Downing

Bennett David Ridaught William Mott Daniel Lynn Who
were duly Ellected and sworn a true verdict to render
* Lemuel Wilson William Gibbons and Samul W. Burnett
were Examined as Witnesses in behalf of the State and the Said
Jury having heard the Evidence and the arguments of
Counsil and the Charge of the Court retired out of Court |
