Saturday December 15th 1855
William May, Samuel R. Johnson and Henry Grad-
dock in the Sum of Three Thousand three hundred and
thirty three dollars each, to be levied upon of their
respective goods & chattels, lands, tenements, and Slaves
if default be made on the following condition,
That is to say, if the said John H. May shall
be and appear at the next term of this Court to answer
to an indictment for stealing a Slave, and shall
not thence depart the Court without leave thereof
then this obligation to be null and void, else to
remain in full force and virtue
And now on this day also appeared Andrew J. Wall
a witness in behalf of the State in the above cause, and
acknowledged himself indebted to the State of Florida
in the sum of Two hundred dollars, to be levied upon
slaves
of his goods and chattels,^lands and tenements, in default
of his appearing at the next term of this Court, as a
witness in the above cause

On this cause being called, it appear-
ing that there was not time to try the same at this term
on motion of Solicitor
of the Court, It was ordered,^that the prisoner do enter
into a recognizance of One thousand dollars for his ap-
pearance at the next term of this Court, Whereupon
the principal John H. May, and his securities
Samuel R. Johnson and John P.C. Massey appeared
in open Court and acknowledged themselves in-
debted to the State of Florida in the Sum of One
Thousand dollars, That is to say John H. May
in the Sum of One thousand dollars, and his securities
Samuel R. Johnson and John P.C. Massey in the
Sum of Five hundred dollars each, to be levied upon
of their respective goods and chattels, slaves, lands
and tenements, if default be made on the follow-
ing condition, to wit: That is to say if the said
John H. May Shall be and appear at the next
term of this Court, and not depart thence without
leave thereof, then this obligation to be null and
void else to remain in full force and virtue
