   Alachua County     }    Monday 12th 1856
                       At a regular term of the
Circuit Court of the Eastern Circuit of Florida
this day to wit, the 12th day of May Anno-
Domini 1856 begun and held at Newnansville
for the County of Alachua aforesaid
  Present His Honor William A. Forward Judge
&c, James M. Baker Esq Solicitor, George B.
Ellis Sheriff and Lemuel Wilson Clerk    returned
  The Venire heretofore issued being called, the
following twenty seven Jurors on the call of
the Venire answered to their names, to wit

2  Jasper Guthrie               16  Davy Mizelle
3  Ezekiel Parish               17  Maxey D. Colson
4  Green W. Cason               18  William T. Malphurs
5  Eli Futch                    19  Franklin Cox

7  John H. Malphurs             21  Robert R. Hines
8  Franklin Dasha               22  Samuel Lowman
9  George W. Sanchez            23  Henry Snowden
10 Benjamin W. Powell           24  Charles C. Stewart

      The following named persons good
and lawful men, were drawn according to
law to serve as Grand Jurors at the pres-
ent Term of the Court, to wit:

                                 15  George Gillett
who having retired under the direction of the
Court to select their foreman, thereafter and
upon the same day returned into Court, and
reported Philip H. Dudley to be their choice
for foreman, who was duly approved and
appointed by the Court as such, Whereupon
