The death of the Defendant having been sug-
gested it is ordered that this cause stand abated.
Josiah Seckinger and George Sharp were summoned as ******* as
served as such today.
The Grand and Petit Juries were this day discharged from fur-
ther attendance at this term of the Court.

Now on this day comes J.P. Sanderson Eqr who prose-
cutes the pleas of the State in this behalf and the said William D. Clark and
the said J.P. Sanderson Eqr moves for Judgment for costs, on the Order of this
Court heretofore entered to wit on the 9th inst.
Therefore it is considered that the said De-
fendant do pay to the State the costs of this prosecution taxed at Sixteen Dollars
and forty two cents, And the Defendant in mercy &c
The Court then adjourned till nine ock to morrow morning

On motion of J.P. Sanderson Esqr Solicitor, the following resolutions,
which had been adopted at a meeting of the Bar, were ordered to be spread
upon the Records of the Court.
1.
Whereas it has pleased the Almighty disposer of all things to render
from our midst since the last term of this Court, our highly esteemed Brother
James Child:
Resolved, that we esteemed our Brother Child for his intelligence
his integrity of purpose and conduct, his generosity, and honorable bearing, to the
Bar, And we lament in his premature death, the loss of one of high promise,
credit to the profession, and usefulness to his fellow man.
Resolved that the members of this Bar as a token of respect for the De-
ceased, wear crepe thirty days.
Resolved that the proceedings of this meeting be published in the Newspapers
of this Circuit, and a copy be sent to the family of the deceased.
