                Monday May 12 A.D. 1856

49.  William M. Lewis     }       Edwards
           vs             }    Assumpsit
     Joseph Ferguson      }       Smith & Bradford
                    And now on this day came the parties by their respect
tive attorneys and by consent of counsel this cause is referred to the
Court upon the Evidence to assess the damages, and the Court having duly
considered the same, Whereupon It is ordered considered and adjudged
by the Court that the plaintiff do have and recover of and from the
defendant the Sum of One Hundred Dollars and fifty two cents for his
damages together with his costs in this behalf Expended Taxed at
Seven -------  Dollars and five cents
                              and the defendant in mercy &c

              And now on this day came the parties by their respective attor
neys and issue being joined thereupon came a Jury to wit,

who being duly sworn well and truly to try the issue joined between the parties after
hearing the testimony, argument of Counsel and charge of the Court retired to consider of
their verdict and thereafter and upon the same day returned into Court and rendered the follow
ing Verdict  We the Jury find for the plaintiff and assess her damages at Ninety five
Dollars and Sixty five cents, Whereupon It is ordered & considered by the Court that the plff
do have and recover of and from the defendant said sum of Ninety five Dollars & Sixty five
cents for her damages together with her cost in this behalf Expended: Taxed at
                                         and the defendant in mercy &c


                The Court then adjourned until tomorrow morning 9 o clock
