               Friday May 16th 1856.

              for the use &c }
            vs               }  Debt
     John Lewis              }
                          And now on this day came
     the plaintiff by his attorney, and on motion
     It is ordered that the plaintiff do have his
     judgment by default, against the defen-
     dant for want of a plea, with stay of exe-
     cution until the next term of the Court and
     that the Clerk do assess the damages, Where-
     upon the Clerk having assessed the damages
     at two hundred and eight Dollars and
     thirteen cents, It is further ordered considered
     and adjudged by the Court that the plaintiff
     do have and recover of and from the said
     defendant the said Sum of Two hundred
     and Eight Dollars and thirteen cents, together with his
     costs in this behalf expended taxed at four Dollars and
     eighty five cents and the defendant in mercy &c

     Shadrack Sapp   }
                    And now on this day came the plain-
     tiffs by their Attorneys and the defendants saying
     nothing in bar or preclusion of the plaintiffs said
     action hereof against him It is ordered by the Court
     that that said plaintiffs do have their judgment
     against the said defendant by default and
     that the Clerk do assess the damages, Whereupon
     the Clerk having assessed the damages at
     Sixty nine dollars and fourteen cents, It is
further, ordered by the Court that the said plaintiffs do
     have their judgment and recover of and from the
     said defendant the said sum of Sixty nine dollars
     and fourteen cents for his damages, together with
     his costs in this behalf expended, taxed at
     Four Dollars and forty five cents, and the
     defendant in mercy &c
