Board met pursuant to adjournment. Present

Minuets of the previous meeting read and approved
376 Ordered that the account of W.A. Colclough
For Telegram to Jacksonville (per Order of the
states attorney and the Grand Jury) for One and
25/100 Dollars be allowed and paid $1.25
377 Ordered that the account of C.H. Davies (Jailor)
For feeding Thomas Nettles for five days be
allowed and paid for two dollars 2.00
378 Order That the Board of County Commissioners
of Alachua County decree it expedient to issue
Bonds of said County to the amount of $20,000.00
Twenty thousand Dollars for the purpose of erect-
ing a Jail & a Vault for the safe Keeping of the
County Records and for the purpose of funding
the outstanding indebtedness of the County. That
said Bonds bear an annual interest of 10% cent,
which shall be payable semiannually on the first
of January and the first of July of each year.
That they run ten years from thier date and
that the said Bonds and the interest thereon be
made payable at the First National Bank of Jack-
sonville Florida.
That the said Board of County Commissioners
Reserve the right to the County, to redeem
the said Bonds at any time after the expi-
ration of five years.
And that the Clerk be required to publish
this notice *** order in the Gainesville
Times four consecutive weeks from the
Next issue of the said Gainesville Times.
379 Ordered That an election for determining the
question of issuing Bonds by the County of Alachua
be held on Tuesday the 5th day of June AD 1877
at the following precincts, Waccassassa,
Archer, Micanopy, Orange Creek, Waldo,
Newnansville, and Gainesville.
That the form of Ballot to be used be
For Bonds or against Bonds,
And that the Clerk be required to pub-
lish the above order in the Gainsville |
