The following is the accompanying Release referred to
above.
State of Florida} Whereas A.H.Lenard was surety
Alachua County  } upon a bond payable to the State
of Florida signed by John E. Hicks, principal condi=
tioned for the faithful performance of the said John
E. Hicks of his duties as Collector of Revenue in and
for the State of Florida. Said Bond being in the penal
sum of Twenty six Thousand Dollars and dated on the
ninth (9th) day of Nov. Eighteen hundred and
sixty eight.
      Now in consideration of the said AH.Lenard
paying over to us as County Commissioners of Alachua
County Florida the sum of one thousand seven
hundred Dollars of scrip the receipt whereof we
do hereby acknowldege we as said County Cmmissioners
for Alachua County Florida, do hereby release
exonerate and forever discharge him, the said
A.H. Lenard from any said all liability or responsibilty
to the County of Alachua upon said Bond signed
by him as surety of John E. Hicks as Collector
of Revenue.
      And we as said County Commissioners do
hereby release and discharge the said A.H. Lenard
from any and all liability and responibilty for
any money or moneys whatsoever or other thin**
which the said John E. Hicks may have recovered
by virtue of his Office as said Collector of Revenue
for Alachua County Fla.
     Done and executed under our seals at a meeting
held this 16th day of June A.D. 1873
