take this occasion to State that they will be in
session on the first monday in July next to equalize
assessments hear all persons who may feel aggrieved and
alter the valuation of any real Estate that may require
their attention and remain in Session one week after
which time no complaint will be entertained relative
to erroneous assessments &c
And it is distinctly announced that no complaint or
erroneous assessments will be considered when there has
been no return made by the Tax payer to the
assessor in accordance with Law

Ordered that the Plans and Specifications of George Hoover
for Building a Jail in Alachua County be addopted and
that the following advertisement be published for twenty days
Proposals for Building Jail

April 2d 1878
Sealed proposals will be received at this office up to April (24th)
twenty fourth AD 1878 for building a jail at which time they
will be offered and awarded to the party making the best offer:
Provided a Satisfactory Bond is given for the faithful
performance of contract. It is to be built of Brick roof
covered with tin and to be 32 feet by 40 feet
from face to face of walls and two feet extension
for tower and two stories high. Those wishing
to make bids can see plan and Specification
at this office and also be furnished with such
other information as they may require
in relation to the same by either of
the County Commissioners or County
auditor The Board reserving the right
to reject any or all bids as they may
