April AD 1874 duly and legally approinted County
Solicitor for Alachua County and has been preforming
the duties thereof ever since said date. It is hereby or-
ered by the Board of County Commissioners for Alachua
County that the said R.F. Taylor be paid for his ser-
vices as said Solicitor at the rate of Three Hundred
Dollars per annum during his continuance in said
office, commencing on the 13th day of April AD 1874
   Done in session of the Board of County Commission
on this 3rd day of August AD 1874 Order No 52.

    The County Solicitor gave his opinion that
citizens residing within the corporate limits of incor-
porated cities and towns are exempt from road
duty on County Roads whereupon it was 
52  Ordered that te said opinion of the County
Solicitor be recorded on the minutes-
 
   Whereas, the clerk was instructed at a pre-
vious meeting of the Board, Court; at the meeting
of July 6th 1874 to forward to each and every of the 
Road Commissioners in the County a certified copy
of Section fourteen(14) of "An Act to Estabish and
keep in good repair the Public Roads and highways
of this State" Approved Feburary 19th 1874: Now therefore
be it.
53 Ordered, that the clerk be authorized, instructed
and required to forward to each road Commissioner
in Alachua County, a certified copy of section 14 of "An
Act to Establish and Keep in good repair the Public Roads
and Highways in this State"
54 Ordered that M. Gensler be allowed Thirty
Dollars and Eighty cents($30.80) on County Juror's certificates
55 Ordered that Squire Douglas and Isaac
Gibbons be paid Twelve Dollars and fifty cents apiece
for arresting and bringing to town Louis Watkins.
56  Ordered that Saml.J. Kennard, Daniel Chesser
and Trueman Doanne be appointed Road Commissioner on
Road leading from Newnansville to Putnam County line
57  Ordered that W.H. Donaldson Thos J. May and Ward
Thomas be appointed Road Commissioners on Road leading 
from Gainesville to Stark via Waldo
58  Ordered that Joseph A. Shannon be appointed
