April 12th 1875.
Board of County Commissioners met; present
L.G. Dennis, President of the Board, H.F. Rice
and Henry James; also W.H. Belton, Clerk.
121 Ordered, that one precinct in the County
be and he same is hereby opened for the election to
be held on the 6th day of May next for an election
on the Constitutional Amendments and that
said precinct be opened and established as
Gainesville.
122 Ordered, that Geo K. Broome, Benjamin Rush
and Henry James be appointed Inspectors for the
said precinct at said election.
On motion the Board adjorned to
meet on the first Monday in May AD 1875.
At a subsequent meeting of the Board, to
wit; on the 13th of April AD 1875, the above order
in relation to precinct was reconsidered and
it was
123 Ordered, that the precinct at Archer be
opened for the election to be held on the 3rd day of
May AD 1875 and thus George Helveston Wm.
C. Andrews and R.H. Black be appointed In
spectors of said election at said precinct.
124 Ordered, that the president of the Board and the
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to cancel all County
scrip as soon and at any and all such times as the same
shall be redeemed and that they also cancel the Corresponding
stubs.
In conformity with the above order seven thousand
two hundred ($7200.00) dollars County scrip was cancelled
at present meeting.
The President of the Board was authorized
by the Board to order a Mortgage Book, a Chancery
Order Book and other books for the County
auditor's use.
