Saturday March 17th 1917
The Board of County Commissioners met this March 17th, 1917 in
Special meeting after due notice to each member of the Board
for the purpose of investigating the facts and of finding and
determining whether the petitions filed with said Board at its
last regular meeting asking an election to be held in the territory
in said petitions described and that same be constituted into a Special
Road & Bridge District, and for the issuance of Bonds to pay for said
roads, have been duly signed by the requisite number of Registered
voters who are freeholders residing in the said territory therein
described and for the transaction of all such business as
may be incident thereto.
All and every member of the Board of said County Commissioners
being present, to wit; W.E. Bryant, Chairman, T.C. Bryant, J.T.
Price, B.F. Carlton and R.B. Hodgson.
Thereupon the following resolution was presented and
offered, to wit:
Whereas, There was presented to this board petitions
signed by twenty five per cent of the free-holders residing within
the territory hereinafter defined petitioning this Board to order
an election to create and constitute the following described territory
in Alachua County, Florida into a special road and bridge district to
wit:
All of that part of Alachua County, Florida lying East of a line
beginning at a point where the range line dividing Ranges 18 and 19,
intersects the Santa Fe River, thence South along the Range line
dividing
said Ranges 18 and 19 to a point where said Range line intersects the
Township line dividing Townships 10 and 11, thence east along said
Township line to the Northwest corner of Section 2, Township 11,
